Kaley Cuoco just got engaged and her ring is turning heads and dropping jaws across the world. The star of the popular TV series The Big Bang Theory announced her engagement to her new fiancé Karl Cook by posting a sweet video on her Instagram. In the video, she’s crying tears of happiness and showing off her incredible new engagement ring— an absolutely stunning pear-shaped diamond ring.

The ring is a truly dazzling, custom made piece that Cook had created for his megastar sweetheart. The ring features an incredibly clear pear shaped diamond (also sometimes called a teardrop diamond) set in platinum. The thin band of the ring is in keeping with current celebrity trends (superstar Beyonce and soon-to-be royal Meghan Markle also sport ultra-thin bands on their engagement rings). The pear shaped diamond is also right on trend— right now, unique diamond shapes are more popular than ever.

Kaley and Karl met thanks to their shared passion: their love of horses. Kaley has long been a horse-lover, as you can see by the many adorable pictures she shares of her horses on her social media. And Karl is not only a lover of horses— horses are his job too. The 26-year-old is a successful jockey who’s been riding horses since he was eight years old. He’s an award winning equestrian who has competed in the Grand Prix (and won!). Kaley and Karl met one fateful day at a horse show in March of 2016. Their initial bond over their love of horses blossomed into true love— the two seem like they couldn’t be happier.

Karl actually comes from a family of equestrians. His mother Signe Ostby also rides and even owns some of the horses he uses to compete. His father, Scott Cook, isn’t a famous jockey like his son but you may have heard of him from his incredibly successful business, Intuit, which created QuickBooks and TurboTax. Scott Cook is estimated to be worth around two billion dollars. So, even if Karl weren’t already a successful enough athlete to buy Kaley’s mesmerizing ring (which is estimated to have cost around $80,000) on his own, you can be sure his wealthy family could have easily lent a hand.

What do you think of Kaley’s new engagement ring? Do you love it as much as we do? Kaley certainly seems to be happy with it— almost as happy as she seems about her handsome new fiancé. Congratulations to the happy couple!
